The screw jack can use worm gear set and bevel gear set. You may hear worm gear jack more often, but when to use bevel gear lifting jack?
Here you may need to know the characteristics of bevel gear jack first.
- Bevel gears are more efficient than worm gear. Typically, bevel gear has a lower ratio, which results in higher speed and travel rates.
- Bevel gear screw jacks have a flexible input/output shaft. Unlike the worm gear jack, it’s available in one shaft, two shaft and three shaft configurations. The right angle of two or three shaft configurations can divide input power or torque, send it equally in different directions. So it’s ideal for multiple jack configuration and can eliminate the need for stand-alone right angle gearboxes used in many worm gear jack systems.
So you can see, compared with worm gear jacks, bevel gear jack has greater efficiency, flexibility, and speed characteristics. Here we have bevel gear lifting jacks in machine model NDL series and ball model NDLB series.
- NDL series uses trapezoidal screw. Ideal for moderate travel speeds and duty circle, usually holds position without a brake.
- NDLB series uses ball screw. Ideal for fastest travel speeds and high duty cycles (near continuous), requires a brake motor to hold the position.
